The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at University of Texas - Arlington offers a spectrum of degree programs and certificates for undergraduate and graduate students.  Undergraduate degrees include a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Geology, Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences, and Bachelor of Science in Geoinformatics.

The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at University of Texas - Arlington offers both M.S. and Ph.D. graduate degrees in Earth and Environmental Sciences. The M.S. degree program has four options: (1) Environmental Sciences Option, (2) Geosciences Option, (3) Environmental Science Professional Option, and (4) Petroleum Geoscience Professional Option. All M.S. degree options have thesis or nonthesis options except the Petroleum Geoscience Professional Option which requires a research project. B.S. to Ph.D. program exists for interested students.

Research Facilities

Our research facilities support the research iniatives of our faculty- including wet chemistry, rock prep, paleontology, hydrology, rock mechanics, and clean labs. Major instrumentation includes a thermal ionization mass spectrometer, gas isotope ratio mass spectrometer, ICP-MS with lasor ablation, SEMs, uniaxial compression testing machine, Split-Hopkinson pressure bar, and high precision geodetic systems.
