The Department of Geography / Geology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha offers undergraduate degrees in geography, geology and environmental studies, a masters degree in geography, and certificates in geographic information science.

The Department offers both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Geography. We also offer concentrations in Geographic Information Systems and Travel & Tourism, and a minor in geography.

The Graduate Program [Master of Arts] in Geography provides training in geographic skills and opportunities for graduate work in a spectrum of systematic and scientific fields. The geography program is enriched by special programs and faculty research in cartography, remote sensing and geographic information science applied to urban landscapes, vegetation, plains and mountain environments; gender and work in the United States; geographic education; geoarchaeology in the Middle East; political economy of post-communist transformations in Central and Eastern Europe, foreign direct investment, car industry restructuring and regional development in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Geology Program in the Department of Geography and Geology offers both a B.A. and B.S. in Geology as well as a minor. The B.S. is designed for the student who wants to work in the geologic field.  We have designed three tracks within the Geology B.S. program.
