Geographers study physical and biological environments, human societies and their spatial interactions, and utilize both environmental science and social science perspectives. We seek to analyze the processes, spatial patterns and consequences of human-environment interaction, and address issues of sustainability. We use maps, fieldwork and geospatial technologies such as GIS to solve real-world problems.  Programs leading to the B.A. in Geography include: Resource Management, Physical Geography, Environmental Studies,Techniques in Geographic Analysis, Human Geography, and Urban and Land Use Planning. The M.A. and M.S. graduate programs support international and field research on a wide range of topics related to faculty expertise. Together these provide multiple perspectives and tools to understand the relationships between people and their environments, and solve problems related to local and global change.
