The scientists and scholars in the Department of Geography are committed to conceiving and carrying out research programs that improve public welfare, embrace the highest intellectual standards, and advance geographic understanding. Undergraduate degrees offered includes Bachelor of Science in Geography, Bachelor of Science in GIS, and Bachelor of Science in Spatial Sciences. We offer master’s and doctoral degrees in Geography, specializing in one of five thematic areas – Human Geography, Physical Geography, Human-Environment Interactions, Geography Education and Geographic Techniques. We have a varied and vibrant graduate program with more than 50 graduate students pursuing research around the globe.
The Department of Geography and Department of Forest Science co-sponsor certificate programs for students wishing to further specialize their degrees. Such certificates include Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and/or Remote Sensing available through the Department of Geography.
