Geology Students Most Satisfied With Their Degree Choice

The Guardian UK published the following report on how satisfied geology students are with their degree choice:

 Some 95% of geologists quizzed in the poll of nearly 220,000 students studying all subjects at UK universities and colleges were satisfied with their courses. Only 67% of the photographers were.

USGS Accelerates Access to Satellite Data

Federal and state agencies that need satellite imagery from commercial sources will find it much easier to acquire the data through a streamlined process managed by the U.S. Geological Survey.

Many federal and state agencies rely on imagery of the earth acquired by commercial satellites to conduct missions related to natural hazard response, resource management, crop monitoring and climate change studies. These agencies can now meet their requirements by working through USGS multiple-award contracts rather than individual vendor contracts, saving the agencies considerable time and money.
